About Sudoku

Fill each row, column, and 3 by 3 box with the numbers 1 through 9, once each. Choose Easy, Medium or Hard from a collection of 90 verified puzzles, with randomized numberings and orientations for fresh boards. Every puzzle has exactly one solution. Easy uses single candidates; Medium adds only-place deductions; Hard adds pairs and candidate eliminations.

Pencil notes can help you see what is still possible. A hint explains a specific deduction and highlights the relevant cells; you choose whether to place the number. If you reach three mistakes, keep your board and continue in practice mode, or retry.

How to play

Select a cell, then tap or type a number. Printed clues stay put. Turn on Notes to pencil in candidates. The timer begins when you start interacting and pauses when you leave the tab. Settings includes automatic notes and a relaxed mode without a mistake limit for new puzzles.

Controls

Tap / click a cell, then 1–9: Enter a number with the number pad or keyboard.
Arrow keys: Move the selected cell.
N / Notes: Toggle pencil notes.
Backspace / Delete / Erase: Clear the selected entry or notes.
Ctrl or Cmd + Z / Undo: Undo an entry or note change. Mistakes and hints are not refunded.
H / Hint: Explain a useful next step.
P / Escape: Pause or resume.

Your current puzzle, notes, undo history, completed-puzzle totals, best clean times and settings save in this browser for your signed-in KIX account. Progress does not sync across devices.
